Hydraulic Driven Sludge Pumps for Reliable Liquid Transfer

Hydraulic Driven Sludge Pumps provide powerful, dependable performance for sludge handling, liquid transfer and spraying applications. Each pump is powered by a hydraulic motor mounted directly to the pump, allowing it to operate from an existing truck or tractor hydraulic system.

Advantages of Hydraulic Driven Sludge Pumps

These pumps can generate the high pressures required for demanding transfer and spraying operations. They also perform reliably in both hot and cold conditions.

Because they do not require a separate petrol or diesel engine, these pumps reduce the need for repeated refuelling and engine maintenance. Hydraulic-drive centrifugal pumps can also be more economical than engine-driven alternatives, particularly in larger pump sizes.

How Hydraulic Driven Sludge Pumps Work

Hydraulic oil is supplied from a hydraulic pump, usually through the truck or tractor’s existing hydraulic system. The oil travels through a high-pressure supply hose to the hydraulic motor mounted on the pump.

These systems generally operate at pressures between 2,000 and 3,000 PSI. A return hose then carries the hydraulic oil from the motor back to the hydraulic reservoir on the truck or tractor.

Correct Hydraulic Flow and Overspeed Protection

It is important not to overspeed the hydraulic motor. Overspeeding occurs when hydraulic oil is supplied to the motor at an excessively high flow rate. This can damage the hydraulic motor, pump bearings and seals.

The best way to prevent overspeeding is to match the hydraulic motor’s required flow rate to the output of the truck or tractor hydraulic system. For this reason, many manufacturers offer two or three different hydraulic motor options for the same pump model. This allows the pump to be correctly matched to the available hydraulic system for safe and efficient operation.
